Preview: The Comedy Week Ahead – Oct 20 - 26

Is it a post-Boosh tour or just a solo tour? The Mighty Boosh has not officially split but Noel Fielding sets out on tour without Julian Barratt tonight, kicking off in Guildford and coming into London next month. It’s not strictly solo though. Noel’s brother Michael, aka Naboo, appears, reportedly as Fielding’s wife. Fans are promised part stand-up, part-character comedy featuring creations recently seen in his E4 series Luxury Comedy. We suspect it will be total nuts and very colourful.

South Africa comes to London from Thursday when the Cape Town Comedy Festival takes over the New Wimbledon Theatre for three nights. The main attraction is Marc Lottering, who has come to the UK a number of times but seems to have been slightly trumped by Trevor Noah, who has quickly established himself in the UK. Lottering is every bit as funny and accessible, but seems happy to base himself mainly in South Africa, where he is a TV regular. I’m not sure if there is a big South African community in Wandsworth, but ex-pats from all over the capital will no doubt be heading down to SW19 this week.
